Review: Baron Fig Mouse Pad

When Baron Fig invited me to review their new Mouse Pad, I realized it was time for an upgrade. Behold, my “mouse pad” until this week:

(It’s the Mastermind Desk Pad from Baron Fig.)

That worked fine, but the actual Mouse Pad from Baron Fig is much better.

(Yes, I need to clean the keyboard.)

Here’s another look:

The branding on the pad is subtle:

The vegetable-tanned leather looks and feels great. I have the Charcoal color, or you can get it in Fig Wine, Yellowgold, Blue Slate, or Rose Quartz.

I expect a nice patina will develop on the leather over time. What stands out most about the Mouse Pad is how thin it is: “three times thinner than a standard mouse pad,” they say. It takes up hardly any space at all and looks great on a desk. Here it is next to a pencil:

It’s a very reasonable $34. Check out this great new addition to Baron Fig’s line-up here. And if you shop at Baron Fig (for anything!) through this affiliate link, you get $10 off a purchase of $20 or more, which would knock the price of this Mouse Pad down significantly.

Thanks to Baron Fig for sending the Mouse Pad so we could review it! This did not influence the objectivity of this review.

  1. Thanks for this review! I’m really interested in this. I love thin mouse mats and like the idea of a leather one. Seriously considering getting one for my desk at work.

Question: is the back surface leather? Is it slippery at all? I’m concerned that it might slip around on my desk which is a sort of smooth white surface.
